Four UK teams take home more than $35,000 at Idea State U

All four University of Kentucky student entrepreneur teams placed in the top two in their respective categories and won a total $35,000 in prize money at Idea State U this past weekend. “The Idea State U business plan competition demonstrates the tremendous amount of entrepreneurial talent we have all across Kentucky,” said Gov. Steve Beshear.

UK student entrepreneurs compete for $100,000 at Idea State U

Four University of Kentucky student entrepreneur teams will compete for $100,000 in prizes at Idea State U, April 12-13 at the Lexington Center. The students are representing UK against teams from all of Kentucky’s public universities for the best business plans and business concepts based on their ideas for innovative products and services. The public is invited on Friday to see the exhibits and watch the pitch contest beginning at 4:00 p.m., Lexington Center, Level 3.
