How To Apply

Submitting Your Application:

Students applying to the Graduate School at UK will need the following:

  1. GRE scores (may be self-reported—official scores will be required upon admission)*
  2. Transcripts (may be unofficial---official transcripts will be required upon admission)
  3. Personal Statement
  4. Three letters of recommendation**
  5. A processing fee

Submit all application materials through the University of Kentucky Graduate School application portal.

* ETS keeps GRE scores for 5 years. The School may accept older scores, but you will be required to provide the UK Graduate School with an official record of the scores to be considered for admission. Often, a previous graduate institution will still have your scores on file. You should contact your previous institution and ask that your scores be sent to the UK Graduate School on the institution’s official letterhead.

**We require three letters of recommendation. When you apply through the application portal, you will be asked to fill out an online form to submit the contact information of the three people who will be recommending you. The system will contact each person identified and their recommendations will be submitted directly to us. You can check back into your application at any time to see who has submitted a recommendation. You may submit your application even if a person recommending you has not yet sent their form.
