Biography
Research Interest: My research interests center on health communication, with a particular focus on mental health and the ways media and integrated strategic communication can shape awareness, reduce stigma, and foster community engagement. I am especially interested in participatory visual methods such as photovoice, which empower individuals to share their lived experiences through images and narratives. I have applied this approach in my research on the Blue Zone of Nicoya, Costa Rica, exploring how community stories and cultural traditions contribute to well-being and healthy aging.
