
Biography
Research Interests: Yolanda Jackson’s research focuses on reducing health disparities in marginalized and minoritized communities through community-based research and health communication. She develops and tests culturally targeted health messages, grounded in theory, to promote awareness and action around modifiable risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias among Black adults. Her work bridges communication science, public health, and translational research to advance equitable strategies for prevention. Ultimately, she aims to promote health equity by leveraging health communication to empower communities to take charge of their health.
