CI announces 22-23 College Excellence Award Winners

The University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information held its annual College Excellence Awards on Friday, March 31. The ceremony and luncheon recognize the outstanding work and talent of CI faculty and staff. The awards have been a tradition in the College since 1999, and the College continued the tradition by recognizing everything from outstanding advising to incredible DEI contributions.

The 2022-2023 winners are:

• Faculty Teaching: Jen Smith (JOU)
• Faculty Research: Kimberly Parker (ISC)
• Faculty Community Service: Liz Spencer (ISC)
• Outstanding Advisor: Sydney Shields (Student Success)
• Outstanding Staff: Sam Schweinsberg (SIS) and Kenny Blair (CITS)
• Graduate Teaching: Ansley George 
• Friend of the College: Matt Johnson
• Outstanding Contributions to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Nigel Taylor
