In November 2023, the School of Information Science arranged a tour of the University of Kentucky’s Libraries for library science graduate students and librarians throughout the state. The event was an opportunity for students to meet each other and meet some professors from the program in person, instead of the regular online meet-ups the fully online program offers.
670 College of Communication and Information students were named to the Dean’s List for their outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2023 semester. The 670 students on the list account for nearly one third of all current CI students.  
University of Kentucky School of Information Science researchers Associate Professor Shannon M. Oltmann and Professor Maria Cahill were awarded nearly $700,000 in combined grants from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, an independent agency of the United States federal government charged with supporting libraries and museums.
The University of Kentucky is well-represented on a list of the most-cited researchers in the world. In a database compiled by Stanford University in a partnership with Elsevier, 119 current UK scientists and scholars appear among the top 2% of the most-cited researchers across 22 disciplines.
After years of hard work and determination, Jasmin Keith will graduate from the University of Kentucky this Friday with a bachelor’s degree in information communication technology (ICT) from the College of Communication and Information.
Four University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information faculty members were selected to participate in the inaugural Land-grant Engagement Academy, a two-day program through UK’s Land-Grant Engagement Office focused on building multi-disciplinary partnerships around community-level engagement work. 
School of Information Science Assistant Professor Brian Real and Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Department of Communication Chair Anthony Limperos were both recently named Beam Institute Faculty Fellows at the James B. Beam Institute of Kentucky Spirits in the University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.
