Hi! My name is Jefawn Evans. I am from Washington D.C but have lived in Maryland, Washington State, Colorado, and now Kentucky. I am a sophomore broadcast journalism major and this is my first year as a student ambassador. I am so excited to be able to represent the College of Communication and Information here at UK! We have an outstanding program that has already helped shape me into a better journalist. So far since being in the College of Communication and Information I have joined two journalism clubs—The National Association of Black Journalists and The Elite List. I have also been able to write for the Kentucky Kernel twice, and broadcast news on WRFL. I even got an internship my second semester with 107.9 The Beat LM Communications. And now I am a college ambassador. The College of Communication and Information has many opportunities for all of it's students.

My interests include obviously talking about all things entertainment including music, movies, social media, politics, etc.. (reasons I want to be a journalism). In my spare time when I am not working (I work two jobs) I like to sleep, a lot. I also like to eat, watch movies, listen to music—my favorite artist is Drake—blog, take pictures, dance, travel, go to concerts (when I have time), go out, be social, get involved more on campus, and make the most of life.

My future goals include graduating with my Bachelor’s degree, getting a job to work for E! news, hosting red carpet shows, and eventually obtaining my own radio show. I believe that with the help of all the great instructors and opportunities here at the college I will be able to accomplish my goals. I am so glad I chose the College of Communication and Information here at the University of Kentucky!
