Department of Communication

WELCOME

Welcome to the Department of Communication. The ability to communicate is one of the most prized skills employers seek. A survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers found that the knowledge and skills acquired in communication courses are essential in the hiring process, regardless of a student’s major.

Our award-winning faculty are actively engaged in social science research and community outreach, which provides our students with the opportunity to learn about the latest theoretical breakthroughs and practical applications firsthand. From message design and media literacy to conflict negotiation and team building, the versatility of a communication degree can prepare students for a variety of careers – just ask our alumni who give back as guest speakers, mentors and employers of our students.

We welcome you to learn more about the research, education and engagement opportunities we offer in the Department of Communication. If you have any questions, please contact us. We would love to hear from you.

Anthony M. Limperos, Ph.D.
