Bio: 

Jihye Kim is an assistant professor in the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication. Kim received her Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 2015. Her research interests include advertising and public relations strategies, digital communication, cause-related marketing, and health communication. Her research has been published in Journal of Interactive Advertising, Management Decision, Journal of Marketing Communications, Journal of Promotion Management, and International Journal of Business and Management, among others. Kim was the recipient of the American Academy of Advertising Doctoral Dissertation Award, the UF Graduate School Doctoral Dissertation Award, and best paper awards at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and International Journal of Advertising. She has taught digital strategies, research methods, international advertising, media planning, and health communication campaign.

Bio: 

Tae Hyun Baek (Ph.D., University of Georgia) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication at the University of Kentucky. He has been teaching Digital Strategies, Integrated Strategic Media Management, and Quantitative Methods in Communication Research courses. His scholarly interests lie at the intersection of digital media, consumer-brand relationships and consumer psychology, with an emphasis on examining how digital media transform the persuasive processes and effects of strategic brand communication. Another research stream focuses on why and how consumers respond to advertising and other strategic communications that promote socially responsible behavior. He is dedicated to pursuing the psychological models of consumer motivation and emotion that underlie persuasive communication. At present, he has presented several papers (three best conference paper awards) at national academic conferences, including the American Academy of Advertising (AAA), Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), American Marketing Association (AMA), Academy of Marketing Science (AMS), and American Collegiate Retailing Association (ACRA), His work has been published in book chapters, and leading journals such as the Journal of Advertising, International Journal of Advertising, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of Research in Interactive Marketing, Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, Review of Communication, Asian Journal of Communication, Journal of Health Communication, and Health Communication. Before entering academia, he worked for Calson Marketing World Wide Korea in Seoul and for Franceschi Advertising & PR agency in Tallahassee, Florida.

Bio: 

Bobi Ivanov (Ph.D., University of Oklahoma) is Professor of Integrated Strategic Communication in the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication at the University of Kentucky. He studies strategic message design, consumer behavior, and strategic communications. He has primarily taught marketing, communication, research, and strategic communication related courses in number of different departments/units. His main research interests concern social influence (persuasion and resistance) and message design, processing, and retention. Ivanov’s theoretical work focuses on the study of inoculation theory, images, and attitudes and their composition, hierarchical structure, and function as applied in various contexts including commercial, health, intercultural, instructional/educational, interpersonal, political, and risk/crisis management. His scholarship has appeared in numerous presentations (five top paper awards), books, book chapters, and journal publications such as Communication Monographs, Communication Research, Human Communication Research, The International Journal of the Image, Communication Reports, Journal of Communication, Iowa Journal of Communication, The Global Studies Journal, Health Communication, Journal of Public Relations Research, Western Journal of Communication, Communication Yearbook, Journal of Applied Communication Research, Central Business Review, Communication Research Reports, and Atlantic Marketing Journal, among other. He has also worked as a Market Research Analyst at Consumer Data Service (CDS) and Insight Market Research and Consulting (Insight). He remains an active research consultant with Insight.
