Bio
Tara is an Instructor and Ph.D student in the College of Communication and Information. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Applied Communication Research, and featured on Time.com and Daily Mail. Tara's research interests involve health communication during patient-provider interactions and decision-making regarding substance use/treatment. She completed her Masters thesis, entitled University health provider perspectives on the communicative aspects of brief alcohol interventions, in 2015. Tara has taught courses in public speaking and interpersonal communication. She received both her Masters of Science and Bachelors of Arts from North Carolina State University.
