INTERNSHIP SITES APPROVED for ISC 399
Here, you'll find information about internships recently held by ISC students. These positions are 'APPROVED' for ISC 399 | INTERNSHIP credit. To be APPROVED, a position must provide the student with substantive work that's keyed to the ISC education mission. The work must result in professional caliber materials that a student can include in a portfolio.
The internship descriptions below focus on the core tasks expected of an intern. These core tasks are the basis for the internship achieving 'APPROVED' status. [Typically, students also have additional tasks which relate to the core tasks.) NOTE: It's the --position-- that's approved, not the site. A company may host other types of internships that are unrelated to the ISC mission -- those internships aren't eligible for ISC 399 credit.
The descriptions below also provide contact information. So, be aware: People often change positions within a company/organization or move to another company. If the contact person listed on this site is no longer in the position listed here, ask to speak with the person who currently supervises interns in the position described below. Be resourceful. Take initiative in making sure you connect with the person who supervises the specific position you're interested in. A 'boss' expects resourcefulness and initiative on the job. And we expect you to take that approach in the search for your ISC 399 internship.
Site descriptions (below) don't identify specific software to be used/learned at the intern site. That's because it can change even more rapidly than people do. Be prepared to detail YOUR tech capabilities when you interview -- and maybe demonstrate them. ASK what software you'd use as an intern and what support is in place to help you learn new programs [from supervisor, tutorials, etc]. You should look to your internship as a chance to expand your awareness of AND expertise with programs commonly used in the business/non-profit sectors.
