ISC 261 Alumni Panel Brings Career Insights to Students

LEXINGTON, Ky (Sept. 12, 2019) -- 
The Department of Integrated Strategic Communication (ISC) in the College of Communication and Information held its first ever ISC 261 alumni panel on September 11 at 9:00 am in 122 White Hall.
The discussion was organized by ISC Assistant Professor Laura Fischer and ISC Professor Beth Barnes. Nick McDowell, graduate teaching assistant for ISC 261, served as moderator.
Panelists shared their experiences as ISC students, specifically why they chose their path of study, which electives they took, and the clubs and organizations they joined. The alumni then explained how those experiences helped them succeed in their professional careers, and why developing strong writing skills is so important. The panel also provided insight concerning what skills their employers are seeking in interns and job candidates.
