Risk Science scholars at the University of Kentucky have extensive research programs in organizational, environmental, and disaster communication planning and response, as well as community preparedness and health communication campaign strategy, implementation, and evaluation. Collaborative research projects have been funded by the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Agriculture, Environmental Protection Agency, National Science Foundation, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes for Health, as well as state and local entities. The College of Communication and Information has a long-standing reputation for innovative health communication research, hosting the biennial Kentucky Conference on Health Communication. Graduate students who collaborate with Risk Sciences faculty also have the opportunity to pursue Research Fellowships in Risk Sciences.
