ABOUT
Spectrum Studio is a 20,000 square-foot studio, production center and learning/research laboratory near Rupp Arena in the Central Bank Center in the heart of downtown Lexington. The state-of-the-art facility, a collaboration between the UK College of Communication and Information, UK Athletics and JMI Sports provides students opportunities to work side-by-side with professionals producing broadcast news, sports programming, promotions and other digital content for distribution.

‘UK at the Half’: New downtown studio provides collaboration, hands-on learning opportunities
A collaboration between the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information, UK Athletics and JMI Sports has created an innovative new studio space in Central Bank Center, just steps away from Rupp Arena. The goal? Taking media education to the next level at the University of Kentucky.
CI students recognized on Rupp Arena Floor
On March 1, 2025, shortly before the University of Kentucky Men's Basketball team took the court against the then top-ranked University of Auburn, four College of Communication and Information students were recognized on the floor of Rupp Arena. The students were part of the first cohort of students to take classes in the new studio space inside Central Bank Center in downtown Lexington.
