Top played song on your playlist?:
It depends on the day, but it’s almost 100% something Drake with some Future, DaBaby and Jack Harlow sprinkled in.
Where has your CI degree taken you?:
Lots of places! From Bowling Green, KY, to Louisville, to here in Savannah. The NCAA Tournament, the Heisman Trophy weekend, bowl games, the SEC Football Championship, the PGA Tour, and Kentucky Derby. It’s taken me as far as Boise, Idaho, NYC and Florida. I’ve been in hot air balloons and tiny planes, on hurricane coverage and in the courtroom, and everything in-between.
What¹s the most valuable thing you learned in CI?:
My favorite thing is that no two days are the same. It’s really never boring. I can go from a crime scene, to the Humane Society, to a baseball game- it is always different and ever-changing, and every story presents its own challenge.
What advice would you give to current CI students?:
The most valuable thing I learned is literally how to be a journalist. How to ask a good question. How to edit, shoot video, be on TV for the first time, and how to be a good writer. But besides all the obvious skills, my professors helped me believe in myself. Even now, I still send them things or have them look over my resumé.
