The Public Affairs Marketing and Digital Media Internship (O. Leonard Press Public Affairs Internship) offers motivated college students an exceptional opportunity to gain skills and practical work experience in digital media and marketing and communications. Students will work closely with KET professionals in the promotion of public affairs programs and content. This paid internship includes an hourly wage plus the opportunity to earn two stipends during the semester for achieving certain performance markers.

The marketing and communications intern will assist in promoting programs like Comment on Kentucky, Kentucky Tonight, and Kentucky Edition and gain experience clipping out individual stories from public affairs programs to use in digital promotions, uploading video, caption, and thumbnail files to the KET website. They will learn to re‐edit public affairs stories into shortform videos for YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and other social media platforms and assist with on‐air promotion production.

This internship also can be used to satisfy your JAM 399 Internships credit. Qualified applicants must be pursuing a degree in a related field, have completed at least 24 academic credit hours and be in good academic standing, have strong computer, writing and communication skills. Applicants should have an interest in public media, marketing and communication, civics or politics. Experience with Premier Pro is preferred.

Leonard Press Public Affairs Internship) offers motivated college students an exceptional opportunity to gain skills and practical work experience in production and journalismStudents will work closely with KET professionals in the creation and production of public affairs programs and content.  This paid internship includes an hourly wage plus the opportunity to earn two stipends during the semester for achieving certain performance markers.

Students will work closely with KET professionals in the creation and production of public affairs programs and content.  This PAID internship includes an hourly wage plus the opportunity to earn two stipends during the semester for achieving certain performance markers. The intern will work on programs like Comment on Kentucky, Kentucky Tonight, Kentucky Edition and on legislative coverage and will gain experience in areas like video, audio, editing, graphic design, production, administrative and legislative support.

This internship also can be used to satisfy your JAM 399 Internships credit. Qualified applicants must be pursuing a degree in a related field, have completed at least 24 academic credit hours and be in good academic standing, have strong computer, writing and communication skills. Students must have flexibility to work evening hours.
