What you can expect for your resume

- The opportunity to become a Kentucky Press Association Ambassador after successful completion of your internship
Details
- By applying, you will become part of a pool of applicants from which nine Kentucky newspapers will select eight interns (two newspapers will share one intern in 2026)
- Students will be expected to complete 400 working hours (equivalent to 10 weeks of full-time work) during calendar year 2026
- These hours can be completed as a summer internship or throughout the semester, the schedule to be agreed upon between you and your host newspaper
Benefits
- PAID: Selected interns will receive $4,000 (after taxes) for the whole internship
- FLEXIBLE: How you choose to complete the 400 working hours is flexible and can be worked around your schedule- This might mean working nights, weekends, or remotely to accommodate your class schedule. Just work it out with the host newspaper.
 
- MENTORSHIP: You will have a mentor from the Kentucky Press Association whose role is to help you build your career and answer any questions you may have during your internship. They will check in on you and help you tailor your resume, build your portfolio, and discuss your career goals.
