WELCOME

Welcome to the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication. Our major offers professional preparation for careers in the allied areas of promotional communication. Disciplines include advertising, public relations, direct response communication, sales promotion, social media promotion and more. Through course work and internships, students develop marketable skills and gain command of these allied areas.

The Integrated Strategic Communication program has full national accreditation by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).

UK student and faculty highlight suicide prevention through QPR training

Department of Integrated Strategic Communication Assistant Professor Sarah Geegan and a group of ISC undergraduates and College of Communication and Information graduate students are championing suicide prevention through the QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training method, a free, evidence-based program designed to help individuals recognize the signs of suicide risk and intervene. 

‘UK at the Half’: New downtown studio provides collaboration, hands-on learning opportunities

A collaboration between the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information, UK Athletics and JMI Sports has created an innovative new studio space in Central Bank Center, just steps away from Rupp Arena. The goal? Taking media education to the next level at the University of Kentucky.

From campus to country: UK alumni find music success in Nashville

For one University of Kentucky alum, having access to an on-campus recording studio allowed him to make professional quality music at no cost. Another noted his journalism coursework shared themes with songwriting and helped him strengthen his lyrics. And an advisor’s suggestion to pursue a flexible major encouraged another to think about the business side of her music career.
