WELCOME

Welcome to the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication. Our major offers professional preparation for careers in the allied areas of promotional communication. Disciplines include advertising, public relations, direct response communication, sales promotion, social media promotion and more. Through course work and internships, students develop marketable skills and gain command of these allied areas.

The Integrated Strategic Communication program has full national accreditation by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).

$2.5 million gift from Wrigley Miller to support UK College of Communication and Information

Yesterday, the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees formally accepted a $2.5 million gift from philanthropist, entrepreneur, horsewoman and award-winning journalist Misdee Wrigley Miller and her husband — businessman, lifelong horseman and accomplished polo player James Miller — that will support the renovation and expansion of UK’s Pence Hall, the future home of the UK College of Communication and Information.

Get excited — Lexington’s Holiday Parade Presented by Commonwealth Credit Union is Dec. 7. The parade will begin 11 a.m. on Midland Avenue, running west on Main Street, ending at Mill Street.

A Purple Heart and a 2nd chance: CI student veteran’s journey of service and survival

Joey Bates never imagined he’d walk across a stage to receive a Purple Heart. But the University of Kentucky doctoral student and U.S. Marine Corps veteran was awarded the distinguished medal on May 7, 2024, honoring the sacrifices he made when his deployment to Somalia took a life-altering turn.

The 2024 James C. Bowling Executive-in-Residence Lecture will take place at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22, in the Grand Courtroom of the Rosenberg College of Law.

Former Obama speechwriter Cody Keenan to deliver 2024 James C. Bowling Executive-in-Residence Lecture

Cody Keenan, former director of speech writing for the Obama administration, will deliver the 2024 James C. Bowling Executive-in-Residence Lecture at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Grand Courtroom of the Rosenberg College of Law. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication and the College of Communication and Information at the University of Kentucky. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Bowling Lecture.
