Among the ongoing uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, seven of the international students who joined the Wildcat community in Fall 2021 did so through a special program. Sherali Zeadally, an associate professor in the School of Information Science at the College of Communication and Information, was selected as the winner of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Region 3 Outstanding Engineer Award. Region 3 encompasses over 24,000 IEEE members across nine states in the southeastern United States and Jamaica.
