Undergraduate courses in risk and crisis communication provide students with an introduction into the discipline, while our Graduate Certificate in Risk Sciences provides a more advanced focus for students pursuing graduate education or looking for a stand-alone certification. Graduate courses include risk communication, crisis communication, training and consulting and knowledge management. Graduate students can also become Risk Fellows by completing scholarly research projects with faculty members.

Our faculty engage in theoretically informed research to identify practical applications for risk communicators across all phases of crises and disasters. Research topics related to risk and crisis communication include a focus on supply chains, social networks, social media and risk messaging across a variety of contexts.
