Eric Lindsey
Biography
Eric Lindsey currently works at the Kentucky Blood Center. As the director of media and branding at KBC, Lindsey is responsible for participating in the development and execution of the KBC strategic communications plan, focused on maintaining an adequate donor base and blood supply. Lindsey assists with public relations functions, acts as an organizational spokesperson and engages with local media and community groups. Working collaboratively with other members of the marketing team, Lindsey devises, develops and delivers key messages to target audiences through a variety of communication platforms.
Prior to his arrival at KBC in January 2022, Lindsey served at UK Athletics for 13 years, the final eight of which he was the director of communications and public relations for the tradition-rich UK men’s basketball program. In that role, Lindsey managed the overall publicity, promotional and communications efforts of the team, which included coordinating all media needs with Hall of Fame head coach John Calipari, the staff and the team. Lindsey played a key part in UK’s Brand and Content division and Name, Image & Likeness committee. Prior to his role as the sports information director, he laid the foundation for UK Athletics’ social media department, first as the assistant director of new media and then as the editor of CoachCal.com.
A proud 2008 graduate from the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information (B.A. in journalism), Lindsey remains connected with the University as a member of the CI Dean’s Leadership Council.
