UK class partners with Downtown Lexington to recruit participants for Downtown Christmas Parade

For the second year, the Downtown Lexington Partnership (DLP) is partnering with students from the University of Kentucky’s integrated strategic communication (ISC) event planning class out of the College of Communication and Information.

Students in the class are contributing to the planning and organizing efforts for this year’s parade under supervision of DLP Interim Executive Director Laura Farnsworth.

“Downtown Lexington Partnership is excited to once again partner with the University of Kentucky students from the ISC Event Planning class to produce an exciting, family friendly event in downtown,” said Farnsworth. “We encourage all interested businesses, clubs and non-profit organizations to register for the parade downtown and bring Christmas joy to thousands of guests on a crisp, December morning.”

As part of their class, students are helping register participants for the parade. The parade will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, on Main Street. The deadline to register for this year’s parade is Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022.
