JAM Student Presents Research at National Conference

JAM senior Annie Casadevall (MAS) presented research on mass media content at the Association for Education in Research and Mass Communication (AEJMC) conference held in August in Philadelphia. As co-author on the paper, titled "Queering Contemporary Comedy: FX's What We Do in the Shadows," Casadevall presented the work at the LGBTQ Interest Group top paper session. Casadevall worked with media scholars Erika Engstrom and Evan Brody on the research as part of an independent study she completed in the spring. Partial funding for attending the conference was provided by a CI Undergraduate Research Fellowship, which encourages students to work on and present research.
