UK Research Communications (writing)
The UK Research Communications team is looking for a writing intern to assist our team in creating written content focused on highlighting interesting and impactful research across our campus.
This position includes the following responsibilities:
Writing blurbs, press releases, Q&A’s, social media posts and other written communications assignments as needed.
- Pitching ideas for new content.
- Conducting interviews.
- Other assignments as needed/assigned.
Candidates must be a College of Communication and Information student with exceptional writing skills, be well organized/able to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced team environment. The internships also are eligible for JAM 399 class credit for students who qualify. But is open to any College of Communication and Information student, regardless of internship status.
Ideal candidates should demonstrate the ability to write about complicated or technical subjects in a simplified way for a general audience. Knowledge of how to manage social media content is a plus, but not required.
For credit: Interns will work with Research Communications 15 hours a week.
For experience: Interns will work with their internship supervisor to create a schedule.
We are open to Summer 2025 internships, as well as during Fall and Spring semesters.
