Journalism junior awarded Broadcast Education Association Scholarship

Edward Smith, journalism junior, was announced as the recipient for the 2024-2025 Broadcast Education Association Peter Orlik Endowment Scholarship for $3,500.

For 25 years, Peter Orlik has served as BEA’s Scholarship Committee Chair. Throughout his time as chair, he has supported hundreds of student scholarships of over $750,000 through his commitment and passion to broadcast and digital media. 

BEA is the premier international academic media organization that drives insights, excellence in media production and career advancement for educators, students and professionals. BEA administers scholarships annually to honor broadcasters and the entire electronic media profession. Scholarships are awarded to juniors, seniors and/or graduate students at BEA member institutions.
