Four CI alums named to UK Hall of Distinguished Alumni

The UK Alumni Association announced 20 new inductees to the Hall of Distinguished Alumni for 2025.

The UK Alumni Association announced 20 new inductees to the Hall of Distinguished Alumni for 2025.

Discussed as early as 1957, the Hall of Distinguished Alumni of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association was established along with the construction of the Helen G. King Alumni House in 1963. The Hall pays tribute to those UK alumni who have distinguished themselves and their alma mater through their contribution to the welfare of the commonwealth and nation in arts, sciences, business, industry, engineering, journalism, politics, military science, religion, agriculture, labor or other fields of endeavor. The UK Alumni Association announced 20 new inductees to the Hall of Distinguished Alumni for 2025, including four College of Communication and Information alumni as well as one UK Debate alum. These alumni include: 

  • Dr. Terry L. Birdwhistell- College of Arts and Sciences ’75, College of Communication and Information ’78 and College of Education ’95 
  • Michael T. Eaves- College of Communication and Information ’94 
  • President Earl F. Martin III- College of Communication and Information ’84 and J. David Rosenberg College of Law ’87 
  • Dr. Pamela H. Whitten- College of Communication and Information ’86 
  • Ouita K. Michel- College of Arts and Sciences ’87 and UK Debate
