Where has your CI degree taken you?:

It's truly helped get my first two jobs after graduating. It played a big role is helped get a job with UK admissions. Public speaking was HUGE part of that job and my background in communications really helped me. Obviously, my current job in news is in direct connection to my degree. Even five years after graduating, my experience there helped me get my first job.

What is your favorite thing about your job?:

I love working with our team, but my favorite part is going out into our community and helping people the most I can.

What¹s the most valuable thing you learned in CI?:

This is a hard one because I learned so much, but being able to complete work on deadline when working for UKSNN and the Kernel really prepared me for life in a newsroom. When that clock is ticking and it's almost time for the newscast, you have to be able to gather yourself and get your work done. Those moments weren't as hectic while at UK like they are now, but my time at UK prepared me for what I'm doing now.

What advice would you give to current CI students?:

Be patient. You may not get that job as soon as you graduate, but it'll come. Took me almost 5 years, but I'm finally here!
