Karla Kuhn (2014, MSLS) is currently the access and user services circulation manager at Ekstrom Library at the University of Louisville.
In this role, she oversees the circulation and access functions of the library, schedules department staff and students, and creates departmental policies, procedures, trainings and goals.
Kuhn says she chose library science because she feels like it still fits every day. No matter where her thoughts were career-wise, she was always drawn back to it. She is proud of what she does and the patrons she gets to help.
“Don't feel like you have to stay on one track,” Kuhn said. “I started with a general path and thought I wanted to stay in public librarianship, but by jumping off track and seeing where my degree can take me it has been an adventure.”
