Top played song on your playlist?:
Depends on my mood. Spotify stays on shuffle!
Where has your CI degree taken you?:
Immediately after graduation, I began working at a local advertising agency where I managed a client’s media buys and sponsorships. After a year of working there, an opportunity arose to return to UK and work in the Marketing Department where I interned as a student. I couldn’t pass up a chance to return to my favorite place!
The connections I made and experiences I had through CI also gave me the opportunity to serve on the executive boards of several local organizations including Ronald McDonald House’s Red Shoe Crew and the Lexington Chapter of the American Advertising Federation.
What is your favorite thing about your job?:
I love being able to work with students and our campus partners daily. Everyone UK is truly focused on student success; working with likeminded people keeps me motivated.
What¹s the most valuable thing you learned in CI?:
In addition to the practical things, I learned the basics of the industry from Dr. Barnes and improved my writing with the help of Dr. Hutchison. ISC taught me how to work with people well. Between group projects and required internships, there was no shortage of putting those skills to the test.
What advice would you give to current CI students?:
Get really involved in a couple of things that you are passionate about while in undergrad. Extracurricular activities will prepare you for your future and expand your world view more than you could ever imagine.
