Top played song on your playlist?:
24 Frames by Jason Isbell (followed closely by everything else on his album “Something More Than Free”)
Where has your CI degree taken you?:
My degree has allowed me to spend my entire career working for great companies in a profession I am passionate about. That’s a tremendous blessing and I don’t take it for granted.
What is your favorite thing about your job?:
It’s all fun and rewarding, but I think my favorite part is our corporate philanthropy program. The company donates about 30,000 beds to charity each year. Reading thank you cards from people whose lives were changed because of a Tempur Sealy donation makes my day.
What¹s the most valuable thing you learned in CI?:
The combination of studying under experienced professors, gaining real experience at The Kernel and taking advantage of internship opportunities was a powerful combination. My senior year was the busiest year of my life, but I learned more in that year than any prior time in my life. Take advantage of it all.
What advice would you give to current CI students?:
Write, and do it every day. No matter what career path you choose, honing that skill will serve you well. And participate in as many internships as you can. The only thing better than a college diploma is a college diploma sitting on top of a great portfolio.
