Where has your CI degree taken you?:
My Comm degree has taken me all around the country and even overseas to work in places and at events that I never imagined I would experience. From an NBA Finals World Championship to a film documentary premier in Germany, UK propelled my career in communications.
What is your favorite thing about your job?:
My favorite thing about being with the Mavericks is meeting and working with individuals from all different types of backgrounds. I work with people from every corner of the globe and through our differences in culture, race, religion and socioeconomic level we all strive for one common goal.
What¹s the most valuable thing you learned in CI?:
Communication is ubiquitous, and the most valuable thing I learned while getting my degree is how to communicate effectively in a number of settings: in a large group, one-on-one, with upper management or in a crisis situation.
What advice would you give to current CI students?:
When you decide where you want your path to lead, stop at nothing to acquire as much experience as you can. Don’t be discouraged by low-paying internships or volunteering your time for free. Obtaining experience and meeting people within that industry will open doors and make your resume much more attractive to employers
