Group Travel Leader/Pioneer Publishing

Do you have an interest in travel writing, a knack for developing social media content and want hands-on experience in publishing? Then the Group Travel Leader and Pioneer Publishing has an internship for you. The niche magazine publishing companies are dedicated to creating educational content about the group travel and meetings industries.

They are seeking an editorial and social media intern for the upcoming 2025 Fall semester. This internship qualifies for JAM 399 course credit for Journalism and Media Arts and Studies students who qualify.

Responsibilities include writing engaging articles tailored to each magazine’s audience, researching topics and interviewing sources, collaborating with the editorial team to revise and refine content and gathering images to accompany articles. The ideal candidate also would be able to develop and schedule posts for the company on various social media platforms and use tools like CapCut and Adobe Express to create eye-catching graphics and multimedia content to increase engagement. Candidates should be able to assist with proofreading articles, and participate in brainstorming sessions and team meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in journalism, communications, marketing or a related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and tools (e.g., Canva, Hootsuite or equivalent)
  • Creative mindset with the ability to adapt to brand voice and style
  • Enthusiasm for storytelling, publishing and digital media
  • Bonus: Basic knowledge of photography, video editing, WordPress or graphic design
