LABG is seeking a Social Media intern to assist the Communications and Community Engagement Manager to implement the organizations communications strategy. This includes generating content, program promotion, website maintenance, and collateral content development to articulate LABG’s mission to various audiences: communities living in poverty, domestic/ interpersonal violence victims, legal community, potential donors, and the public at large. This position is permitted to work up to fifteen hours a week. Qualified Candidates should send resume & writing sample (if applicable) to Resumes@lablaw.org with the subject line Social Media Intern.

Responsibilities include:

1. Transforming knowledge about LABG into exciting and useful messages and disseminating it to the right audience through the best distribution channels.

2. Assisting with the development and implementation of LABG's strategic communications plan that utilizes traditional and new media channels to reach stakeholders and target populations for education, advocacy, and fundraising purposes.

3. Enhancing and deepening the brand identity of LABG, improve overall marketing collateral, and ultimately increase awareness of the issues that clients and the poor experience in our community.

4. Helping prepare for fundraising, outreach, advocacy, and issue campaigns.

5. Assisting with media relations with television, radio, print and new media.

6. Helping manage the online presence for the organization including website management and social media.

7. Helping develop, distribute, and maintain all print and electronic content (email, website, social media, twitter etc.) and collateral content.

Key Skills:

  • Admitted in a degree program
  • Excellent writing/ editing and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to work independently
  • Enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
  • Graphic design capabilities with experience in Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Graphic design skills
  • In-person, remote, or hybrid workspace
