Tune in on March 19 at 7 p.m. ET to gain insights into the fast-growing bourbon industry and its importance to Kentucky. Hear from four UK alums involved in the $9 billion bourbon industry, moderated by a member of the UK College of Communication and Information faculty. Generating more than 22,500 jobs, the production and consumption of Kentucky bourbon provides more than $268 million in annual tax revenue for state and local governments. The Kentucky Bourbon Trail brings 2.1 million people to distilleries with more than 70% being from out of state.

Our next faculty, staff, and graduate student lunch and learn session comes from the International Center at UK and is a CI specific session that will count toward the Global Engagement Academy professional development certificate.

This class will present an overview of the University of Kentucky’s “global footprint” by characterizing the wide range of international engagement activities, including student/staff mobility, international student recruitment and alumni relations, international research collaborations, international engagement and service, and international business operations and relationships.

In addition, the course will discuss the ACE/CIGE model of “comprehensive internationalization” and current trends, challenges, and opportunities related to fostering comprehensive internationalization throughout the UK campus and all of our key missions, strategies, and enterprises. Finally, participants will be introduced to the range of existing infrastructure, resources and expertise to support campus internationalization efforts.
