University of Kentucky Office of Nationally Competitive Awards has announced that five recent UK graduates and alumni have been offered Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarships. The UK recipients are among approximately 2,100 U.S. students who will travel abroad for the 2020-21 academic year.
The University of Kentucky Intercollegiate Debate Team, housed in the College of Communication and Information, has once again finished in the top 10 for the sixth year in a row. The National Debate Tournament Committee ranked the partnership of Genevieve Hackman (senior) and Christopher Eckert (freshman) as the #10 team in the nation.
A documentary film about a World War II hero from Kentucky will air on Kentucky Educational Television on Memorial Day and two other days that week. The film, “From Honor to Medal: The Story of Garlin M. Conner,” was executive produced by Al Cross, director of the Institute for Rural Journalism and Community Issues within the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information.
